Patient 1 BRCA+
These photographs show the stages of reconstruction in a BRCA (+) patient, who elected to have prophylactic nipple sparing mastectomies and bilateral DIEP Flap Breast Reconstructions. The goal of the woman was a natural reconstruction with low maintenance and a flatter abdomen.
Below is the preoperative photograph.
Below is a photograph of the woman 3 weeks after bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies and immediate bilateral DIEP flap breast reconstruction. She still has swelling and her scars have not matured.
Below is a photograph of the woman 1 year after a small left breast lift. No tattooing or nipple reconstruction was required with the nipple sparing prophylactic mastectomies. The scars have faded more at this 1 year point.
